2020 Youth Food Challenge….and the winner is St. John’s UCC!

St. John’s UCC youth earned first place in the challenge this year by donating 200% of their goal. Coming in second place was Hope Lutheran with 182%, and third place was Living Lord Lutheran at 176%. What an amazing outcome for our pantry clients!  The seven youth groups collected a total 14,520 items, which translates into $12,243 dollars of ‘In-Kind’ donations. This is an increase of 1,508 more items than last year’s challenge.  WOW!

The clients served by O.A.S.I.S. are the real winners of this friendly, competitive food drive between local church youth groups. Our thanks goes to those who donated, church youth, youth leaders, and our volunteers for a successful 2020 Youth Food Challenge.

Get into the Swing of Things with the 14th Annual Golf Tournament

This year’s tournament will be a special event with two celebrations. First, we are celebrating the life of Bob Schreiber and his many contributions to O.A.S.I.S. Secondly, we will celebrate the food pantry’s 30 years of serving St. Charles County residents in need.

The O.A.S.I.S. Golf Tournament is the pantry’s principal yearly fundraiser and is planned for Monday, June 1 at Old Hickory Golf Club St. Peters. We need your support to make this event a success. Here are some ways you can help:

  • Play golf or captain a foursome
  • Attend the dinner
  • Donate to the silent auction
  • Volunteer at the event
  • Become a sponsor
  • Sponsor a family
  • Make an on-line donation at www.oasisfoodpantry.com

Help the Girl Scouts Help the Pantry

On April 18th the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri begin their April Showers community service event. Girl scouts, their troop leaders, families and friends help people in need by collecting personal care items. Girl Scouts can be seen outside participating Schnucks, Walmart or other rural stores collecting personal care items for individuals and families in need. The O.A.S.I.S. Food Pantry and its clients greatly benefit from this yearly program.  Please give generously to April Showers and help the Girl Scout’s help the pantry.

O.A.S.I.S. Volunteer Needed

The pantry is looking for a volunteer to collect and record O.A.S.I.S. Food Pantry ‘In-Kind’ donation data. The volunteer in this role enters data from donation logs and invoices into an Excel spreadsheet. The volunteer would need to commit to 3 to 5 hours a month and needs to be comfortable using the MS Excel program. Data entry can be performed at home; however, donation logs and invoices would need to be picked up from the pantry. The ‘In-Kind’ donation report needs to be completed by the 15th of every month. For more information about this volunteer role please contact Mike Wraspir at 636-293-1184.
